The Technology
Milling technology has in many cases remained unchanged for 50 years but the demands made of it have dramatically increased. For example in the pharmaceutical industry the compounds are becoming increasingly difficult and more complicated to make and are increasingly insoluble in liquid. The regulatory and safety controls are increasing in parallel. Microjet Fluid Technology is a system which overcomes the limitations of conventional mixing and homogenising techniques. Operating at up to 24,000 psi, the diamond and stainless steel interaction chambers produce extremely high levels of shear resulting in very fine, tight particle size distributions and small particles of exceptional consistency. There is no grinding media and therefore no associated contamination problems.
The M100 lab unit is portable, air powered and optionally autoclavable. Ideal for batch, recirculation or continuouis processing of samples as small as 12mls. Temperature control is an integral part of the device which is easy to 'clean in place'
- M100 Laboratory Processor
- Flow rate - 200 - 400ml/min depending on product characteristics
- 3,000 - 24,000 psi maximum operating pressure
- Air supply requires: 57scfm and 120psi through 1/2" piping
- Requires no electrical supply
- M100S Small Volume Processor
- Identical to the M100 but has only one interaction chamber and a very small hold-up volume of around 10 - 12mls
The Microjet system is particularly suited to pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. The process is fully scaleable and is optionally available with electrically driven intensifier pumps.
